Dancing at Lughnasa

Recent plays

Our October production was the award-winning Dancing at Lughnasa written by Brian Friel and directed by Mike Morris.

The play tells the story of five impoverished sisters living in a remote part of County Donegal over the summer of 1936, and of the events which change their lives for ever. We see the closeness of the sisters and the difficulties they experience when their older brother returns from Africa after 25 years as a missionary.

We had good reviews in the Daily Echo and the Hampshire Chronicle. In addition, we were nominated for the Daily Echo Curtain Call Awards, and won in several categories.
