Chameleons present:
Albert Make Us Laugh by Jimmie Chinn.
Albert Nutall, aged eleven - some would say he is backward, and, at first glance you'd agree - but Albert is special. He is a poet and a visionary who, as he grows to manhood, inspires unexpected depths of emotion in other people, notably his classmate Primrose, whose glorious future as an actress fails to materialise, and the lost and lonely young schoolteacher, Janet Partington.
We meet Albert on his first day at Belmont Fields Secondary Modern School. This funny, touching and uplifting story told entirely by adults may well remind you of your own schooldays – and you’ll not be sorry that you laughed.
This poignant play will touch your heart, yet it's lightness and comic moments stop it from ever being sentimental or melancholy.
